Welcome to the Town of Tamworth and our bed and breakfast, the Gilman Tavern Inn. When you come down into the village, you enter the peace and tranquility of a New England town rooted in history. Time often seems to stand still here: in the calm of the early morning before the village comes to life each new day and in the evening as the lights come on in the buildings along the street.

Although our home is among the oldest in the town, we just acquired the Gilman House in 2003 and began the renovations that fall. While ensuring the safety and preservation of the home, we have tried to blend as much of the old structure as possible with modern conveniences.

A short history of this grand old house is included in the books found in your rooms. We invite you to visit, relax and enjoy our home and take some time to walk around the town during your stay.
