You are staying within minutes of many outdoor activities: hiking, biking, golfing, walking, fishing,
boating, swimming, downhill and cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. If outdoor activities don't interest you, there are scenic
drives available in every direction, an outlet village and antique, knickknack and craft shops on every bend of the road.
A walk through the village is a great way to spend the afternoon and evening. Tamworth offers the Historical Society, Remick Museum
and Farm, The Other Store, the Tamworth Lyceum, Dreamworks Antiques and Grammy Gordon’s bakery, Ordination Rock, the Veteran’s Monument and
the Barnstormers Theatre. There are many restaurants in the local area offering a wide variety of cuisines. In the surrounding villages of
South Tamworth, Wonaloncet and Chocorua there are several more places to visit
including an out-door brick oven and bakery, a weaving studio where yarns are
dyed by natural means, and a pottery shop, to name a few.
Please be sure to ask about our lodging and dinner packages (from a local restaurant) or lodging and theatre packages.
The summer theatre season runs from the Thursday preceding the Fourth of July through Labor Day weekend, with plays nightly Tuesday through
Saturday and matinees every Saturday. Various types of musical entertainment
and local theatre group plays are also offered on several weekends at Barnstormers during off-season (check our calendar for more information). |
